Madonna and Child (Filippino Lippi)

Filippino was the son of the painter Fra Filippo Lippi and trained in Botticelli's workshop. This tender Madonna, reading from a prayer book as the Christ Child reaches for it, was made for the powerful Strozzi family of Florence.
